Avatar Symbiotic Society Consortium
The Avatar Symbiotic Society Consortium is an organization established as part of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)'s moonshot research and development project, "The Realization of an Avatar-Symbiotic Society where Everyone Can Perform Active Roles without Constraint." The consortium aims to create a society where anyone can thrive freely, even from distant locations.
In this context, "avatar" refers to remotely controllable robots or computer-generated characters that can be operated as if they were one's own alter ego.
Participating companies advance experiments and technological development using these avatars while sharing information and exploring new business ideas. These efforts promote the creation of a society where avatars are convenient and safe for everyone, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to stay connected, enriching their lives and work, even when far apart.
